Grotto
A cave that is used to signify many things and very often has Jesus, Our Lady of the Guadalupe, Virgin Mary, The Madonna and other religious statuary representation. Statues of Angels, Saints and even mythical creatures
Grottos are for so many conversations and reflections with the powers that be. They can signify the Earth’s Heart. The symbols that can be referenced with these are plenty and there’s no right answer on the use. It’s a place of rest and peace. Protection for the weary from the outside harshness. The perfect place for many religious holy sites. Most importantly it can signify the Womb, and the cave.

To happen upon one is absolutely spiritual, no matter what religious background you are, you can still take a moment to say your prayers. I’ve seen a few in the mountains and on the plains. If a grotto is not formed naturally, many substitutes can be used. This is sandstone and the result of wind and water.
It’s absolutely magical. Thank you for the visit.
This little grotto recently underwent a clean up. What a great job was done cleaning up the broken glass. The glass blows over in the wind sometimes and like all things, needs care. This is located on a backroad in Huerfano County, Colorado.
