Donna Lanor Hull Ward

Birth December 1st, 1899

Death September 22, 1923

A clipping from a paper reads

“Death of Mrs. Cecil Ward, Popular Young Woman Dies Saturday Evening.

Mrs. Dona Hull Ward, Age 23 years, wife of Cecil Ward, died at her home on Russell street Saturday afternoon about 5:30, of typhoid fever.

Deceased is survived by her husband, Cecil Ward, and by her parents, Mr and Mrs P.D. Hull, and by an infant child.

Funeral Services were held Monday at Gardner, Rev. Geo. S. Darley officiating. Internment was in the Gardner Cemetery”

The spelling is slightly different in the announcement, but the records are the same. This announcement was published in the Walsenburg World, September 25th, 1923. There is an additional photo of her on her online grave listing.

Her name was also spelled Donna Le Noir Hull Ward on other documents. Her grave only reads Donna, there are not additional marking on the back, only roughy stone. The photos I found on find a grave were of her and her grandmother, not my photos to share!! Her name is spelled Donna La Noir Hull Ward on the Find a Grave website and is listed in the Gradner Cemetery, Colorado.

Her husband Cecil Wayne Ward was born in Brookside, Fremont County. They were married on February 10th, 1922. According to the record found, he passed away in Los Angeles, in 1985.

She is buried along with her Father, Mother and Daughter, Mariann, in the same plot.

What a beautiful photo. Life taken entirely too soon, as most are.

Rest in Peace Beautiful Lady, We honor you today.

PS. This music felt right for her with 100 percent of my soul. I believe wholly that she would have enjoyed it.
